03. Tadeo
04. Damian Schwartz
05. Alex Under
06. Pilas
07. Friendly People
08. Hieroglyphic Being
09. Menisco
10. Circunbalation
11. Nate Fisher

Oh yeah!!! Finally!! The first NET28 compilation, “1”, with all our big stars & friends in a petit reunion. The first release from NET28, the label that embraces the efforts of Apnea, CMYKmusik, Cyclical Tracks and Mupa, in a series of compilations that will not stop, is an incredible collection of unreleased tracks. A project masterminded by the ones who run the business: Alex Under, Damian Schwartz, Tadeo & Imek.

What we have here is a deep journey that begins in Madrid (with all the usual suspects) and lands in France (From Karaoke To Stardom), UK (Kevin Gorman), USA (Hyeroglyphic Being) and Georgia (Nate Fisher). Every track is a must, a hit, a fucking brilliant sum of influences and new horizons. Techno in all its colours and forms, developing from the most atmospheric to the funkiest and darkest, paying due respects to Detroit, Cologne and Berlin, but reemerging as something totally new and fresh, as only our artists know how to do. An statement to celebrate our unique voice & groove.

From Karaoke to Stardom and his futuristic groove to the limit; Kevin Gorman bringing back all the funk in a compulsive rhythm adventure; Tadeo showing his most merciless face with a enormous stomper; Damian Schwartz rethinking the future and discovering new grounds with a massive rocking synth orgy; Alex Under and his unique way of understanding & producing music; Pilas going smooth and dreamy in a classic techno manner; Friendly People (aka Alex Under) turning off the lights and submerging us into a frighting odyssey; Hieroglyphic Being and Detroit is back as innovative as ever; Mensico (Pilas&Sintec) working it in a moody and heartless manner; Circunbalation (aka Tadeo) going eternal and delivering a timeless killer, possibly his biggest track till date; and finally Nate Fisher, with all the sophistication of the best house music.

Anything you want is here, and much more you could ever imagine...

Dan Ghenacia - Eyelights [Freak n'Chic]

Dan Ghenacia 'Eyelights'
Freak n'Chic - FNCCD03
Released June 2008

Freak n'Chic label-head Dan Ghenacia presents 'Eyelights' - a deep, dance-demanding insight into Ghenacia's musical world of today, yesterday and with exclusive tracks for the future.

The overall style of the mix is deep house; deep, groovy and hypnotic, but in a modern way - Dan Ghenacia

The idea of the compilation is to 'highlight' what is going on for me as a DJ/producer and with the music I like and play - with the artists I'm working with and the artists I love. For the name, I tried to find something that included the word 'highlights' - in a musical sense - and I also wanted something that 'highlights' the magnifying glass theme on my eye - we found something in between 'Eyelights'. I like it. Dan Ghenacia

John Digweed – Transitions Vol 4

John Digweed concludes the first chapter of his Transitions series with a bang…

Since it’s launch Transitions has become one of - if not - the most anticipated releases in the compilation calendar; over the past two years its single disc, twice-yearly format has provided dance music fans a regular, contemporary snapshot of John. Now the first chapter in the Transitions’ series reaches its conclusion with the highly anticipated fourth volume.

“This was perhaps the hardest one yet,” says Digweed, “The proximity between releases meant each new volume was strongly influenced by its predecessor - as we moved from one to the other they had to relate and make sense. ”

So, a real challenge. Just how did John go about tackling it?

“I’ve developed the amount of tracks and layering over the series,” he elaborates, “And we’ve taken it to the next level with this latest volume, it’s the most intense and intrinsic yet, which meant replacements, additions, editing and a lot of time consuming assessments and re-assessments.”

Over the course of 22 tracks and 73 minutes John weaves a unique musical thread. From favourites such as Ink & Needle, Guy J and Pig & Dan through to welcome debuts from Henry Saiz, Myers Briggs or Soliquid, all are concisely constructed in the mix to the point where 3 are often playing at anyone time. Infact, due the resulting complexity, John decided to re-structure the trackmark points to better reflect the more developed passages – and so 22 records became 10 (see full tracklist below), as he elaborates, “In trackmarking this way I am able to highlight the unique qualities of the mix. Whilst it hopefully retains that signature Digweed sound, I’ve used modern production techniques to create an album that’s unlike anything you’ll ever hear me do in a club.”

And the future? “Let’s keep it about this latest volume for now,” John affirms, “Otherwise I think I’d be doing it a disservice!” We couldn’t agree more: Transitions Vol.4 is one of the most original compilations you’ll hear this year and a fitting finale to the series in its current guise…

John Digweed – Transitions Vol.4 is out late April 2008.

Luciano to mix Fabric 41?

For the moment it's just a rumor that appeared on RA after seeing the Fabric website where it's the cover artwork uploaded on the press area. Even if we got used to see funny faces on the covers of the Fabric compilations, Luciano's looks like a small corner of paradise. The rumor isn't confirmed anywhere, not even on Luciano's myspace. Looking forward for the official announcement on this compilation and eventually a tracklist. C'mon Luciano! We need this Fabric 41 from you!
